Els Brady PT, MOMT
Els Brady PT, MOMT was born in Belgium and received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Antwerp, Belgium in 1989. Adventure took her to Anchorage Alaska in 1989 where she worked for 31 years.
Initially, Els practiced in hospital-based acute ortho, rehabilitation, long-term care and home health care. But most of her career has been treating patients in outpatient orthopedics.
In 1997 Els completed her Masters in Orthopedic Manual Therapy from the Ola Grimsby Institute. She became a partner and clinic manager at a local outpatient private practice where she treated a varied caseload. Her populations of interest include spine, hips, knees and shoulders, recreational athletes, movement impairment syndromes, post surgical cases, balance impairments and gait/running analysis.
She continued to focus on her clinical education with certifications in several disciplines. She is certified in Integrated Movement Systems which helps her to better treat patients using a full body approach. With her Mulligan Concept manual training and certification, she focuses on joint mobilizations combined with movement techniques. Additional trainings and certifications that she holds include Facial Distortion Model techniques, Postural Restoration Institute techniques and more recently certification in Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (SASTM).
After her own lengthy rehabilitation being ‘the patient’ after complicated knee trauma from a ski accident, Els fine tuned treatment approaches to facilitate phases of rehab with a better understanding of the mental, emotional and physical aspects of injuries and trauma. Wellness is a journey and a lifelong endeavor!
Els moved to Idaho in 2020 with her husband to enjoy the abundance of sunshine and recreation. She joined Thrive Physical Therapy in August 2021 and enjoys the North End community living and fast access to the trails and skiing.
She enjoys travel, cooking, reading and time in the outdoors alpine, backcountry, Nordic and skate skiing, mountain biking, hiking, swimming and stand up paddle boarding. Her native language is Dutch.
“Functional strength helps us play without injury and have more fun doing it. It has been a joy joining the Thrive team working with wonderful colleagues!” – Els Brady PT, MOMT
