Stacey Scanlan PT, MPT
Stacey received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from The Colorado College in 1991. She attended physical therapy school at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah and received her Master of Physical Therapy degree in 1998. She began working for Physical Therapy at Thrive, LLC in 2010 and is the Center Coordinator for Clinical Education (CCCE).
She is a Level 2 Certified Manual Therapist through North American Institute Of Manual Therapy (NAIOMT) and has completed extensive continuing education in manual therapy and musculoskeletal assessment and treatment. She is a Certified Wound Specialist through the American Board of Wound Management. She has completed the Advanced Credentialed Clinical Instructor Program through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and has been a member of the APTA since 1995. Stacey is certified in Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (SASTM). She is currently working toward becoming certified in Pilates on the mat and the reformer.
Stacey specializes in orthopedics and enjoys treating the spine, sacroiliac joints, shoulders, and the foot and ankle complex. Special populations that she enjoys treating include pregnant and post-partum clients along with athletes of all ages from a variety of sports. Stacey especially enjoys working towards common goals with the health-conscious and motivated clients at Thrive. She believes that providing education for patients about their injury or medical condition is critical so that patients can be involved in their own healing process and prevention of future problems. Her treatment approach incorporates this education as well as manual therapy and movement re-education.
She lives in the highlands with her husband Darren and their two border collies, Sport and Rally. She has eleven nieces and nephews that she loves spending time with. She enjoys being outdoors as much as possible. In the winter she participates in alpine, nordic and backcountry skiing. She also enjoys hiking and backpacking, camping, running with the dogs, mountain biking and road cycling, gardening, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and reading good books.
