Kim Kutzner PT, DPT, Certified Pilates Instructor
Kim Kutzner PT, DPT was first introduced to physical therapy during her Pilates instructor training and certification by Romana Kryzanowska. She was intrigued that the physical therapists were also certified Pilates instructors. She completed her training at the Pilates Seattle International Studio in Seattle, WA in 2003. After returning to Boise, she taught for some time at Boise’s first Pilates studio downtown. Realizing there was a lot more to know about the body, she decided to pursue physical therapy. She graduated from Idaho State University with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2011. Kim joined Thrive Physical Therapy in 2012.
She enjoys working in an environment that supports and encourages her to combine her physical therapy skills with her Pilates background. Kim enjoys incorporating Pilates movements and principles into her therapeutic exercises. She continues to advance both her Pilates and physical therapy knowledge by attending yearly continuing education. She was recently certified in the Functional Movement Screen and looks forward to using this new assessment tool.
Kim enjoys treating all conditions and all types of patients. She excels and is passionate about retraining patient’s faulty movement patterns. Her detailed eye combined with excellent verbal and tactile cues, help her patients find muscles that can be hard to find. She lives in the North End with her husband Brian and their puppy, Mija. Outside of the clinic, Kim teaches private Pilates sessions, runs, hikes, and dabbles in yoga. She has a creative side, so if she does have spare time she can be found drawing or painting.
